Stella Achen from the Department of Adult and Community Education, School of Distance and Lifelong Learning attended an International conference on Gender and Women Studies 2019 in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia from 17th -18th June 2019. She presented a paper titled “Socio-Cultural Perceptions of Sexuality Influencing Sexual and Reproductive Health of Karamojong Adolescent Girls in Uganda”.
This is part of her PhD work on pastoral adolescent girls in Moroto district in Karamoja. The main discussion of the conference centered on how issues affecting women’s wellbeing and daily lives in the different spheres can be tackled to improve women’s lives.
