On 11th January 2018 a team from Makerere University travelled to Lira Study Centre in Lira District and held a meeting with the District political head the Chairperson LC 5 and the District Chief Administrative Officer to discuss issues related to Lifelong Learning Lira (Lira Study Centre).
The team comprised of Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Makerere University, Prof. Earnest Okello Ogwang Associate Professor, Paul Birevu Muyinda (PhD) Deputy Principal College of Education and External Studies and other College official’s included Dr. Okot Alex, the Dean, School of Distance and Lifelong Learning, Mr Ibanda Tadeo the procurement Officer CEES, Ms Atungonza Rose, the Coordinator Centre for Lifelong Learning

On the same day, the acting coordinator CEES LIRA Centre, Mr. Ayile Lads handed over office to a care taker Coordinator until a substantive coordinator is recruited. The handover ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, Makerere University, Prof. Earnest Okello Ogwang Associate Professor, Paul Birevu Muyinda (PhD) Deputy Principal College of Education and External Studies and the National Cordinator Centre for Lifelong Learning
