Invitation to the Second International Conference on History Education in Africa

The Department of Humanities and Language Education, Makerere University College of Education and External Studies and the African Association for History Education (AHE-Afrika) − based in the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria in collaboration with the International Research Association for History and Social Sciences Education  have organized a  Second International Conference on History Education in Africa. The aim of the conference is to stimulate discussion and reflection, and consolidate extant knowledge on the state of history education in Uganda, Africa, while approaching the current debate in the teaching of history in Africa. The theme of the conference is Teaching and learning history in a changing Africa: possibilities and challenges in the 21st century”.

The purpose of this communication is to invite the teachers of History. We believe that your  participation will enable you interact with high caliber History Educators all over the world, enable them share classroom experiences, and discuss the future of History teaching in Uganda and Africa in general. 

A fee for the conference will be sixty thousand shillings (60,000/=) per participant to cater for a certificate of participation, lunches, teas payable at the entrance.  For smooth preparations, each participant is requested to confirm his/her participation by contacting the following persons:
