Group 6 Pedagogical skills training for Assistant Lecturers at Makerere University

On 2nd November 2018, the training session was arranged and graced by the DVC AA Prof Okello Ogwanga, who said that the Pedagogical training for Assistant Lecturers is rich in content and awarded certificates to participants.

The Director HR was represented by Ms Zake S who stated that CEDAT has the largest numbers of Assistant Lecturers in the University and that is why the was split into two sessions

During the closing session, Assoc Prof Betty Ezati presented a snap shot of what was covered in the training and listed a number of participant’s expectations.  Among the many expectations of the training were assessment methods, writing courses and methods of teaching large classes. The content of the training included higher Education: its environment and dynamics, learning theories; styles and changing philosophy of learning, learning goals and learning outcomes, curriculum design and development, pedagogical design, assessment of and for learning, student support and technology for improved teaching and learning

The training started on 31st October to 2nd November 2018, Dr Michael Walimbwa a lecturer at Makerere University School of Education led the way at the Pedagogical Skills Training Workshop for Assistant Lecturers for Group 6 from Makerere University College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology

One of the participants gave a brief speech on behalf of the rest, she was amazed with the high quality of trainers and testified that they will not go back after the training the way they come back.
