The School of Education (SOE) is hosting 10 Masters students from Liberia as part of the partnership between Makerere University, USAID and Liberia Teacher Training Program (LTTP). Makerere University SOE recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with LTTP.
The students who arrived on 10th January underwent a special orientation and catch up sessions. This was done to ease their study this semester since they joined in semester two.
Some of the programmes that have been offered to the students include Master of Education Foundations, Curriculum Studies, Educational Psychology and Science Education. The students come from various disciplines such as project management, education and IT. The students are enjoying their stay in Uganda and their only challenge is the differences between British education system and American education system . The Liberian education system is largely American but they are coping quite well with our syllabus. You will see these students on campus and we shall be profiling them in the coming months
