Dr. Jjinjo flying CEES flag high

Dr. Caesar Jjingo, who is on a fellowship in the USA, was on September 29 and 30th sharing knowledge with other researchers during the South-East African Languages and Literature Forum at the University of Florida.

In this forum which brought together African language practitioners – researchers, teachers and graduate students mainly from the USA, Dr. Jjingo presented a paper titled “Towards a modular curriculum for Kiswahili speech sounds and pronunciation focused instruction in Uganda’s lower secondary schools”. 

Most of the papers presented in the forum focused on the issues of integrating culture and language as well as the concept of backward curriculum design.
