Ronald Bisaso is a Professor of Higher Education and Deputy Principal, College of Education and External Studies, Makerere University. He has previously served as Dean, East African School of Higher Education Studies and Development (2015-2022), Member of the University Senate (2015-2022) and Member, Board of Research and Graduate Training (2019-2023) at Makerere University. He holds a PhD in Administrative Science specializing in Higher Education Management from the University of Tampere in Finland, a Master of Science in Educational and Training Systems Design from the University of Twente in the Netherlands, and a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Makerere University. He is an alumnus of the University Administration Support Program (UASP) Research Management and Leadership Program (2020-2021) funded by Carnegie Corporation of New York administered by IREX. He is a member of the International Advisory Board, International Network for Higher Education in Africa (INHEA) and a member of Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA). He served as a member, Steering Group of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) Global Challenge in Higher Education and Research (GHEAR).  He has experience in managing multi-country and multi-institution projects on improving higher education leadership research and training in Ethiopia, Uganda and South Africa funded by the Government of Finland which culminated into academic and professional programmes. He is currently Co-Investigator of a multiple case study analysis of the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) landscape funded by the AAP. He has supervised over 12 PhDs and 18 masters students to completion. He has also served as a mentor in the African Futures Research Leadership Program at the Alliance for African Partnership (AAP) hosted at Michigan State University (MSU). He has published widely and co-authored book chapters, journal articles and edited a book on higher education. His areas of expertise include; organizational change, leadership and management, higher education and socio-economic transformation, and capacity building in higher education in Sub-Saharan Africa. He serves as chairperson/team leader and member on taskforces/ inspection committees set up by the Uganda National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). He is a Fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (FUNAS).
