A fond Farewell to Dr James Urwick

The College would like to take this opportunity to  give a warm goodbye to one of our Academic staff. Dr James Urwick is leaving us after 12 months of service. He has been a great addition to the College and East African School for Higher Education Studies and Development where he specialized in policy and planning at school level. He has been the CEES Representative on the Board of Research and Graduate Training. Dr Leah Sikoyo has taken over from him as our representative on this committee.

Dr Urwick was also the  Chairperson of publications at EASHED where he was instrumental in coordinating the collaboration between EASHED and NCHE in producing a journal jointly. However, this process is ongoing.

Before joining Makerere University, Dr Urwick was a Research Fellow at Centre for Global Development through Education in Limerick, Ireland. He leaves CEES to be closer to his family in England. He is also looking at doing independent consultancy work in Uganda or England. We wish him all the best in his endeavors.
