Makerere University in collaboration with the University of Agder, Norway, is implementing a NORAD funded project for Leapfrogging Makerere University’s 1st Generation Distance Education into Fourth and Fifth Generation Distance Education (DELP). Fourth and Fifth Generation Distance Education uses intelligent flexible learning models which employ interactive multimedia (IMM) online; e.g., social networks, Internet-based access to WWW resources, online learning, e-learning, computer-mediated communications using automated response systems and campus portal access to institutional processes and resources.
One of the planned activities on the DELP Project is a two years post-doctoral fellowship to be carried out in the partner institutions. The fellowship is intended to build research capacity in the field of open, distance and elearning.
