CLL’s workshop on re-orientating upcountry Centre Coordinators

On 17th and 18th February 2012, the Centre for Lifelong Learning organized a workshop for its upcountry centre coordinators at Rest Gardens Hotel, Bweyogerere. The workshop was organized to offer participants an opportunity to appreciate recent developments in the University and to lay strategies to boost the programmes of the Centre country wide.

Participants were briefed on the changes in the college system, financial systems and procedures and an over view of the Centre. Participants were equipped with mobilization skills that would be used to promote the CLL’s short courses and increase student numbers. This will in turn improve the program quality, program evaluation and results.

Participants also received customer service training aimed at providing better services for CLL’s clients and improving CLL’s staff morale and confidence. At the end of the workshop, participants came up with action plans to address the gaps identified. For example, they proposed to conduct research on the impact of CLL’s activities. The research findings would be published into a booklet to assist in the smooth running of the countrywide centres.
