The Mandate of EASHESD is to enhance the human resource, research and institutional capacity
building; and support programs development for higher education systems and institutions in East
Africa. Its focus is threefold: a) Higher Education Research, b) Higher Education Practice, and c)
Higher Education Policy and Practice.
Two institutes:
Makerere Institute of Teacher Education Research (MITER) MITER is a multi-disciplinary teacher education research and capacity building entity committed to contribute to national development through research and innovations in the field of teacher education.
It empowers educators and other educational stakeholders in Uganda and beyond to re-imagine
teacher education for Development.
