Dr Tom Darlington Balojja, is a lecturer at the East African School of Higher Education Studies and Development, College of Education Makerere University. He is formally an Associate Consultant at Uganda Management Institute, Kampala and a part time lecturer at Uganda Martyr’s University, Nkozi Masaka Centre. He headed the education department of Lyantonde District, Uganda for over 8 eight years before embarking on a scholarship to pursue PhD studies in 2013. Prior, he had worked as a teacher, headteacher and education officer in different institutions. His experience ranges from teaching, practicing administration, and doing consultancy work in management related projects and activities.

He holds a PhD in Education (Management) obtained from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat , Gujarat ,India in February 2017. He too holds a Master of Education (management), a Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Education. He has also had several other trainings in leadership, governance and management coupled with variously building capacity of human resources in different organisations.

He worked as a teacher and headteacher in secondary schools; an education officer in Rakai District Local Government rising through ranks to become District Education Officer who started the newly created Lyantonde District education department in 2006. He started lecturing at Uganda Martyrs University Nkozi in 2015 and later joined Uganda Management Institute in 2016. Wherefrom, he was appointed a lecturer at Makerere University.

Balojja has engaged in Pre and Post PhD Research projects. He published an Article on “the role of government in enhancing Universal Primary Education in Uganda” in an International Journal on Educational Research in June 2016 and in November 2017 he published another article on “Funding and enhancing quality Primary education in Uganda” in Ugandan Journal on Policy Analysis and Management Studies published by Uganda Management Institute.
