The first Love Binti Training group graduates

On Saturday 28th July, 2018 the Department of Adult and Community Education conducted the first graduation of its Love Binti Project Trainees. A total of forty students were admitted for the June/July intake and a total of thirty-seven participants successfully completed the training leading to the award of Love Binti Certificate of Qualification.  The participants were drawn from a variety of walks of life intended to increase the impact of Love Binti Project activities.

The three weeks based curriculum to train students has kicked with a great preference. More than forty students have so far enrolled but the project can only take in forty trainees for the purposes of better learning environment. The enrollers have been divided in four cohorts. Cohort 1 runs Monday to Wednesday 9:00-1:00pm, cohort 2 runs Monday to Wednesday 2:00-5:00pm, cohort  3 runs Thursday to Saturday 9:00-1:00pm and cohort 4 runs Thursday  to Saturday 2:00-5:00pm. Each cohort holds ten participants.


MAKCEES launches Love-Binti project

CEES through the Department of Adult and Community Education, School of Distance and LIFELONG learning has entered into a partnership with an NGO from Taiwan, LOVE-Binti International to roll out the implementation of a reusable sanitary pads project in Makerere University and the surrounding communities. Different delegates attended the launch of this project which was on the 12th June 2018.
