Under the auspices of the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship programme (CADFP), we are privileged to receive a visiting professor of Instructional Technology from Columbus State University. The Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program (CADFP) is a fellowship program for African institutions in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda to host an African-born scholar to work in projects in research collaboration, graduate student teaching/mentoring and curriculum co-development.

Anthony Muwagga Mugagga (PhD) and Dr Ssenkusu Peter attends international Conference on Education and Global Conflict Resolution


From 9th to 12th October 2018, The Associate Professor of Philosophy at Makerere University under the College of Education and External Studies, Anthony Muwagga Mugagga (PhD) and Dr Ssenkusu Peter successfully represented College of Education and External Studies and Makerere University in general at Nwafor College Nsugbe in ANambra state in southern Nigeria where they presented papers on Philosophy of Global Conflict Education.

Professor Seppo Holtta from University of Tampere and Professor Turo Virtanen from University of Helsinki in Finland paid a short visit to the Dean, Makerere University, East African School of Higher Education Studies and Development, Dr. Ronald Bisaso on Wednesday 19th September 2018 at 2.30pm.

Makerere University Chancellor, Prof Banabas Nawangwe delegated Dr Vincent Ssembatya, the Director Quality Assurance Makerere University, on 7th December 2017 to open the International Conference on History Education in Africa that took place at Makerere University, School of Food Technology and Bio- Engineering Conference Hall from 7th and 8th December, 2017 starting at 8:00am.

Dr Anthony Mugagga Muwagga, Associate Professor appointed Director Institute for Education Research

The  Institute for Education Research is now established with a mandate to develop and equip researchers with the requisite skills for conducting  research in the field of education so as to inform policy and practice at national and international level. Associate Anthony Mugagga Muwagga (PhD) has been Appointed Acting Director of the institute.





College of Education and External Studies gets Multimedia Studio

With support from NORAD (NORHED), the College of Education and External Studies has been able to revamp the former AVU Viewing and Studio Rooms into the DELP Video Conferencing Studio and DELP Multimedia Studio respectively.
